So, I was reading in 1 John chapter 5 the other day....let me tell you that is just pure goodness! :) I'll quote a few passages so you can also see the sweetness.
"Who is it that overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the son of God." (verse 5) That is really cool to think that just by believeing we can OVERCOME the world. Not get defeated, but victory!
"but God's testimony is greater because it is the testimony of God, which he has given about his Son. Anyone who believes in the Son of God has this testimony in his heart." (vs 9-10)
"And this is the testimony: God has given us ETERNAL LIFE, and this life is in his son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life." (vs 11-12) Okay, so many times I think that we tend to forget about what a big sacrafice had to take place for us to receive this gift. Jesus gave up his life in such a brutal way, just so we can also have eternal life. Sit and think for sec of all that he went through. The "cat of nine tails" whip is grusome enough, but then to be nailed to a cross, spit at, have a spear to the side, beard ripped out, etc.....dang dude! If that's not love I don't know what is.
But here's one of my favorite parts.....
"I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God SO THAT YOU MAY KNOW THAT YOU HAVE ETERNAL LIFE." (vs. 13)
So that we may know. It doesn't say that we "hopefully know" or "this might be truth," it says so that we may KNOW. Nothing in life is certain, but the one thing that is certain is Jesus. And it is certain that if we believe and accept the gift that he offered to us, we'll have eternal life in paradise. Cool right?
I encourage you to read 1 John 5. It'll be good reading for ya! :)

New Direction
Well, my second semester is slowly coming to a close. Only a few more weeks and I'm outta here! wooo hooo! :)
Not many people know this, but I'm going to be taking a new direction with my life this upcoming year. Instead of physical therapy as my career path, I'm looking into going into ministry. Now some people may be thinking, "are you crazy?!?" or "why would you do such a thing?".....and the honest truth is that I need to do what God has placed in my heart. I know that this may be a pay cut, and may be more "hectic," but I have never had such an exciting feeling before. When I think about going into the ministry I have a spirit of peace and excitment and pure happiness. I'm really stoked to see what God has in store, and right now I'm just trusting that He will give me wisdom and open up doors of opportunity.
I'll also be able to help out more with the youth group at Soul Harvest, and from some of the upcoming events sounds like it's gonna be awesome! Jamaica is coming up too. We're leaving in late July for a week that I know will be great! Joyce Meyer conference is in September I believe, which is always so much fun. OH, and I may possibly be going to a Hillsong Concert in mid-April. So much fun in just a few short months!!! :)
